U.S. Navy Ensign Nicholas Lingo became the new director of the Joint Combat Camera Center (JCCC) at Fort Meade in October. He succeeds Lt. Cmdr. Matt Young, who is retiring from the Navy.
Lingo, an Ohio native, has served 19 years, reaching the rating of Chief Mass Communication Specialist before earning a commission earlier this year.
He then completed the Public Affairs Qualification Course at the Defense Information School.
Previous tours included training chief and Sea Operational Detachment Leading Chief Petty Officer at Naval Public Affairs Support Element-East at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, during which time he deployed aboard the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) and USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7).
He also spent four years with the Seabees at a variety of deployed locations.
Lingo is also a graduate of the Syracuse University Military Motion Media program, and is completing his Masters in Television, Radio and Film through Syracuse.
